CAMAC Progress Report Week Ending: September 13, 2002 Week: 85 Tom Folkers: Tom Sargent: 1. I added a correction for up/down focus position to the pointing model. The up/down displacement is presently set by a manual command. 2. I implemented slew messages to the inclinometer task (which doesn't exist yet). 3. At the SMT we noticed the A/Ds reading the encoders had one channel become very noisy on 2 different occasions. The A/Ds had to be power cycled to fix the problem. 4. We started having problems with servo apparently not servicing the DSP often enough. It is as though Linux gets busy and doesn't allow the servo program to run, or the servo program gets busy doing something else and can't keep up. I spent a couple days st the SMT looking for an explanation of this without any success. A few diagnostics were added to servo and to the DSP code. Pete Hubbard: 1. Received parts for cables that are used with Focus drive electronics. 2. SMT for testing and installing a 100Ms output BNC on the back panel of the Servo computer that will be routed to the Sam Buss. 3. Hooking up the signal cables that interface between Tracker chassis and the Sam Bus. 4. Helped with Sambus channel 28 and 29 problem . Still oscillates at the control room chassis only. Making it the Xmit mode and output at logic "hi" the oscillation is not there. 5. Helping get the optical telescope ready to mount on SMT. 6. Building a interface panel for the servo to encoder cables. 7. Finding all the tools that are needed to make cables for the focus drive. David Forbes:
