CAMAC Progress Report Week Ending: January 11, 2002 Week: 50 Tom Folkers: 1. No Report. Tom Sargent: 1. Since the A/Ds that read the shaft encoders have been sent back to Traquair to have 1KHz filters installed, I have modified the DSP code and servo to simulate the presence of the encoder data. The servo program reports all changes in the velocity signal which it is outputting and the DSP calculates how the encoders should respond. It works well except for a slight problem due to the simulated data samples not being precisely synced to the IRIG-derived signal. The DSP UT drifts slowly relative to servo's UT which causes warning messages to be printed every 15 minutes. 2. Found and fixed a bug in the command processing code in the DSP which must have been responsible for some very occasional error messages about garbled commands. Pete Hubbard: 1. Previous week at SMT encoder testing with HP Dynamic signal analyzed to find noise sources that degrade encoder readings. 2. Arranged for Traquair A/D to be modified by the factory to have 1 KHZ low pass filter's added. 3. Testing new amplifier with a higher chopping frequency in the encoder test board. Dave Ashby: 1. No Report.
