CAMAC Progress Report Week Ending: February 15, 2002 Week: 55 Tom Folkers: 1. I final have all 20 counters in the SMTDBE working and have tested the counter bank-switching capability. 2. Repackaging the whole thing in a new rack unit. 3. Will spent next week getting ready for the DBE's first trip to Mt. Graham. Tom Sargent: 1. I got my GTK+ 3-D display program drawing paths across the unit sphere in stereo. These are both great circle and non- great circle paths from a start point to an end point. Buttons were added to rotate the scene left and right or up and down. This is all done with vector algebra (cross products and dot products) rather than spherical trig. 2. Began working on sun avoidance path computation. The program draw the 30 deg sun avoidance zone and the great circle path from the start point to the end point. It can determine if that path enters the avoidance zone. First attempt at computing a sun avoidance path is close, but not correct. Pete Hubbard: 1. Traquair A/D arrives back from low pass filter mods. Installed in rack and tested with DSP. Had to change some jumpers that the factory had changed to get things working properly. 2. Helping with DBE testing to locate counter problem with some channels. 3. Setting up function generator for testing A/D low frequency cutoff point. The sample clock has to be increased to allow sampling at higher frequencies to look for A/D cutoff response. 4. Looked for coax connectors for amplifier board. Still checking for suppliers that have parts that mate with existing connectors. 5. Tested a ICL8069 reference diode for noise and found they much nosier that previous reference chips. Lori Warner: 1. No Report. Dave Ashby: 1. No Report.
