CAMAC Progress Report Week Ending: April 05, 2002 Week: 62 Tom Folkers: 1. Installed Xview3 that's needed for databrowse. I was able to get databrowse to compile and link but crashes when you invoke it. I have asked Lori to look into these crashes. 2. I unified the passwd and userID's files on all of our Linux computers. This was necessary for SCCS to work properly. 3. Working on catalog tool. Making changes to reflect HHT parameters. i.e. wrap and limits. Also to draw slew paths while acquiring new sources. Tom Sargent: 1. Revised the sun proximity checking software to make it state driven. That makes it easier to get useful warning and error messages out of it. I also realized that the code does not take solar motion (the sidereal motion) into account when computing a path. So for some paths taking a few minutes to complete, the sun can move appreciably during the move. 2. Found 2 typos in the sun avoidance path code. It seems to be pretty solid now. 3. Wrote a program to compare refraction computed by the NRAO algorithm and the SMT algorithm. Pete Hubbard: 1. Looking for power connectors that are used for amplifier power modules in encoder chassis at the SMT. The existing ones have horizontal pins and the new have vertical pins that are not compatible. Also looking for linear supplies that operate on 117 V. 2. Comparing different logic product types that will be able to drive the counters used in the DBE cards. The old 74L157 chips are not available. Lori Warner: 1. home/corona/cactus/dataserv/databrowse was examined for segmentation fault. dl-lookup.c is missing from the system and is needed. (system file) This may be due to the Sun to Linux conversion. 2. Filled out accident report forms. 3. Tour of hot, spinning, mirror with Dr. Hill. Dave Ashby: 1. No Report.
