CAMAC Progress Report Week Ending: September 28, 2001 Week: 35 Tom Folkers: 1. Preparing for trip to Mt. Graham for testing. 2. Transported the tracker and control computers to the site for three days of testing. 3. Happy to report that after a day of fiddling with bad cables and inverted bits, we were able to acquire and track sources. A nice picture of the moon, taken with the optical camera while tracking with the new system, can be seen outside Susan's office. 4. Next week we will investigate and correct several bugs and shortcomings identified in the system during this test session. Tom Sargent: 1. Checked over the smt drive software in the servo program in preparation for going to the telescope on the 26th. 2. The servo program was able to drive the telescope reasonably well. It has some trouble acquiring objects (tends to oscillate a bit) but once it gets close enough it seems to track OK. Azimuth has more trouble than elevation. The automatic encoder reset operation does not work. Pete Hubbard: 1. Trip to SMT with new control system for testing. 2. Office move to room N329. Dave Ashby: 1. No Report.
