CAMAC Progress Report Week Ending: October 26, 2001 Week: 39 Tom Folkers: 1. Preparing for next weeks trip to Mt. Graham. Tom Sargent: 1. Finished detailed planning of the new encoder raw data recording scheme. Started coding it. This will record sine, cosine and reference pulse instead of just 2 of the 3 signals. 2. Added the "load" command to servo so it can load command scripts from a disk file. This was implemented so that it can save certain configuration parameters on disk and then restore them the next time the program is started. The logic that does this for the encoder signal to A/D channel assignment is done and debugged. 3. Looked at the existing VAX/CAMAC servo software supplied to me by Bill. My new algorithm is similar, though simpler. 4. Fixed the "zero velocity" bug. The servo program previously expected the telescope to stop when the velocity signal was set to 0. In fact it has a very small drift. The program now commands a "stop" whenever it also commands 0 velocity. 5. Wrote some software to use the pointing model for the SMT. Aldo supplied a program to read and parse the existing pointing model file. I made a new version of ptmodel() which should be able to use the constants supplied by Aldo's code. Pete Hubbard: 1. No Report. Dave Ashby: 1. No Report.
