CAMAC Progress Report Week Ending: May 04, 2001 Week: 14 Tom Folkers: 1. Assembled the new tracker/servo control rack and place the computer and interface chassis inside. 2. More work on RL-Linux. Was able to isolate the causes of the system crashes when using do_gettimeofday(), and facilitate a fix. 3. Tests reveal that by using xntpd to synchronize the time between hosts, you are able to get the system time to sub millisecond resolution. 4. Went to the 12 Meter for a day. Tom Sargent: 1. Working on the T.I DSP card development tools. 2. Finally got the stdio.c (a Traquair-supplied program to test the standard I/O) to run correctly. The problem was in the BIOS set-up for the IRQ being used by the T.I. card. I was then able to write my own application that creates data and writes it via standard I/O to a file on the host Linux system. 3. Went to the 12 meter to work on a VME problem. 4. I am presently learning how to use the T.I. Assembler and Linker. 5. Discovered and fixed an initialization bug in the 96-bit parallel I/O driver for the tracker/servo computer. Pete Hubbard: 1. Finding DAC output signal routing in Krupp rack. 2. Looking for 12 bit ADC wiring location in Krupp rack.
