CAMAC Progress Report Week Ending: March 30, 2001 Week: 9 Tom Folkers: 1. Spent the better part of two days getting the main control computer up and running X using two display monitors. 2. Spent one day on Mt. Graham investigating interface requirements. 3. Worked some on National Instruments Field-Point temperature monitor for Jason. 4. Copied 12 meter control system down from Kitt Peak and began compiling the various programs. Tom Sargent: 1. Finished testing the Linux driver for the 48 bit parallel I/O and then changed the driver to run the 96-bit version of the card. Did loop-back tests on all ports configured for both input and output. Also did a multi-thread test with 3 different programs doing I/O to different bit fields without disturbing each other. 2. Produced a Linux driver for the DAC02 dual channel, 12 bit D/A card and tested it. 3. Produced a modified version of the DAC02 12 bit driver which runs the 16 bit DAC02/16 interface. 4. Found a Linux driver for the DAS1401 16-channel A to D converter (from the Linux Lab Project) and made minor changes to it to get it to compile. I'm working on testing it now. Pete Hubbard: 1. Trip to SMT for Krupp rack interface connector wiring verification. Found opto isolator resistor is 670 Ohms and current is 32Ma. 2. Found drawing in MPI 5312 folder that enables a complete from and to wire list. 3. Looked at AD660 DAC chip data sheet to find how wiring to Krupp interface can be done. 4. Comparing the difference between 2 MPI 6000 pre-amp boards.
