Turning on the UPS after its Batteries are Drained _____________________________________________ If the power fails for so long that the UPS is within 5 minutes of exhausting its batteries, it will shut itself down and will not come back on when the power is restored. Use the following procedure to restart it: 1.) Turn off the "Feed to UPS" breaker box at eye level on the wall to the right of the UPS. This removes the input power to the UPS so that it is not damaged by step 2. 2.) Turn the large rotary switch on the front of the UPS counter- clockwise to the Off position. 3.) Turn back on the "Feed to UPS" breaker box. 4.) Turn the large rotary switch one click clockwise to the On Bypass position. Follow the instructions on the LCD display on the front of the UPS. Just above the rotary switch are a left and right arrow and a "Pause" label. Each has a small round LED within its border. When the Pause LED is on, DO NOT MOVE THE ROTARY SWITCH. It is safe to turn the switch in the direction(s) indicated when the arrow LED(s) are on. 5.) When the Pause LED goes off and the right arrow comes on, turn the rotary switch clockwise to the next position: UPS Start. Follow instructions, if any, on the LCD display. 6.) Wait for the LED's as in 5., then turn clockwise to UPS Check. 7.) Wait for the LED's as in 6., then turn clockwise to ON UPS.
